Our smart thermostat automation saves energy cost by setting the thermostat to a eco-friendly mode when a listing is unoccupied.

How does thermostat automation work?

  1. When a guest checks-out the temperature is set to an eco-friendly range.
  2. Hours before the next check-in the temperature is set to a comfortable range.
  3. If at any time between check-in and check-out the thermostat is manually adjusted, the automation will be overrode until the next check-in or check-out.

Eco Mode: what temperature range will the thermostat be set to when the listing is unoccupied?

The thermostat will be set to a temperature range of 52° - 85° after each check-out. This allows you to save energy cost without the risk of freezing water pipes or damaging furniture. We call this Eco Mode.

Comfort Mode: what temperature range will the thermostat be set to when the listing has an upcoming guest?

The thermostat will be set to a temperature range of 68° - 75° hours before each in so that the unit is comfortable by the time a guest arrives. We call this Comfort Mode.

Override Mode: what happens if a guest or cleaner changes the temperature from the unit?

If the thermostat is changed manually from the unit, the thermostat will enter Override Mode, meaning that the manually set temperature range will take precedence over the automated mode until the next check-in or check-out.

Remotely set temperature to Eco Mode or Comfort Mode

If a thermostat is overridden, you can remotely set it back to Eco Mode or Comfort Mode by clicking the 3 dots on the right side of the listing.
